World Food Safety Day Messages

This is a reminder that World Food Safety Day is coming up on June 7th. It’s a day dedicated to making the world a better and healthier place. This special day is dedicated to one of life’s most fundamental necessities: food. Those who live in the West tend to take food safety for granted. But if you think of just a few things, you might find yourself quite surprised about how many lives can be ruined by eating something that’s not what it claims to be.

A lack of awareness and understanding among consumers has led us into this situation: People are suddenly discovering their bodies cannot seem to tolerate a lot of foods they thought healthy. How did we get here? Some might say it’s because of the high-pressure, fast-food industry that opened all around us. But other people might blame genetically modified foods and irradiated food on our supermarket shelves.

I’m sure there are many reasons behind this situation and it is not an exaggeration to say that everyone who eats food must think about World Food Safety Day when they buy it – if only because they intend to eat the whole thing themselves anyway.

I myself live a healthy lifestyle composed of 3 balanced meals a day with lots of greens, fruit from the supermarket or backyard greenhouses, and fresh grinds. But when I examine my favorite fruits and vegetables in order to figure out what is best for me, I end up thinking: “could it have been irradiated? Or GMO?” If so, then avoiding them isn’t really an option. It’s just not one; at least 100% organic would achieve that! Anyway,

World Food Safety Day Greetings

To all living beings, deep within the Earth and underwater.

Especially to those who call our planet home: Nature herself calls for a change.

One person every 10 seconds dies of malnutrition or starvation because his/her diet is not sufficient enough – many people even die that way each day in hundreds of countries across the world.

There are up to 2 million cases that occur annually; an average loss in life expectancy per year is about 60 years. We may still be able to save many lives, but we must act quickly in order not to become as responsible for a global menace as nuclear weapons – yet World Food Safety Day certainly is growing into that.

Let’s think about it from another angle. Nature gave us life and animals ate their fruits properly when they were the only way for them to get enough nutrients and food. In those days there was no agriculture or domestication; man chased his food with dogs and took from nature what he needed. Modern man no longer eats natural foods; they cook them, which means that many cases are caused by eating the wrong food – without realizing it! Many people also lack enough vitamins because in the EU you can’t sell a carrot above 20 days old.

Due to this practice, we’ve obtained genetically modified foods – not only do they look very similar to real ones but when our bodies don’t recognize them for what they really are, our layers won’t excrete the poisonous chemicals properly. Only a fraction of us can digest them and only a minority actually needs that most nowadays; quality foods aren’t such as to become necessary – especially when prices go down with each “new” product on your table.

So there have been genetically modified organisms everywhere ever since World Food Safety Day was born in 1963. So you wonder “why don’t we stop.

Conclusion

Food safety is a top priority for us and that’s why World Food Safety Day is so important. To mark the occasion, we’ve compiled a list of messages and slogans that we believe are worth quoting. We hope that this will sensitize people to the importance of food safety and help them make informed choices when it comes to what they eat.
